HISTORY

Graduate Institute of Management

The Graduate Institute of Management (GIM), founded in 1992, offers programs in Industrial Management, Business Management, Information Management, Finance, and Technology Management. With the establishment of the EMBA (Executive Master of Business Administration) program in 1997, and the first Taiwan EDBA program in 2001 (renamed Advanced Management Doctoral Program in 2010), the GIM has provided opportunities for on-the-job training for elite business leaders with extensive practical management experience. By combining solid academic training with practical experience, cultivating analytical abilities and decision-making skills, our students will master the core competencies required by the international and cross-strait business environment, and thus enhance the competitiveness of businesses and industries.

In line with current trends, we reorganized the EMBA program in 2011, by setting set up three streams, Senior Management, Business Executives, and Technology and Service Management. More recently, in 2020, we again adapted the program to global developments, by changing the Technology and Service Management stream into the Technology and Digital Application stream. Our executive business education strengthens strategic planning, corporate governance, dynamic crisis management, and negotiation skills required for high-level management, and also draws on Taiwan Tech creative design features to enhance the competitiveness of our students. In addition, we are putting an emphasis on case studies, introducing a range of corporate and managerial strategies through selected corporate cases. This will expand our students’ strategic knowledge base, and also inspire them to find suitable research fields and topic for their thesis or dissertation.
